Hillary Clinton Bets Against Fear

This was tantalizing for those who would enjoy nothing more than to watch the humbling of Donald Trump by American democracy in November.

A man wearing an orange jumpsuit and Hillary Clinton mask told Reuters he had been asked to take pictures standing next to "hundreds" of convention-goers, while "lock her up" - a cry to imprison Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton - became the crowd's go-to chant.

The presidential tracking poll reflects a slight change of wording from previous surveys, replacing the "Neither/Other" option given to respondents with just "Other".

Donald Trump broke out some of his greatest hits on Friday to attack Hillary Clinton's acceptance speech before the Democratic National Convention on Thursday.

This week at the Democratic National Convention, much of the focus was not on nominee Hillary Clinton, but on Bernie Sanders and his enthusiastic contingent of young supporters.

Medicare Issues Delayed Hospital Star Ratings Despite Criticism
The federal agency that oversees the Medicare and Medicaid programs has released its long-awaited star ratings for hospitals. Elizabeth Grant in Williamstown. "Health care leadership bristles at the thought of a Zagats-like evaluation approach".

Both candidates were on the campaign trail on Friday, kicking off what is expected to be a hotly contested general election battle.

Trump's gaffe played right into Wednesday's DNC speakers, who said it shows Trump is unfit to lead the United States. Trump also bashed Clinton as "owned by Wall Street" and claimed her "vision is a borderless world where working people have no power, no jobs, no safety".

In Democrats' eyes, Trump was a "hateful con man" whose candidacy "fanned the flames of fear", and would undermine the nation overseas and rend its fabric at home.

He ended the series of tweets in typically blunt fashion: "No one has worse judgment than Hillary Clinton - corruption and devastation follows her wherever she goes".

She would've been better off using other people's stories for an emotionally-laden pitch for any one of several policies she's embraced over the course of this presidential run. We do. And most of all, don't believe anyone who says: "I alone can fix it".

Day 4 Of The Republican National Convention: Hits & Misses
The real estate businessman promised to create jobs for all Americans by cutting taxes and reducing regulations on businesses. Clinton then, perhaps inadvertently, used her campaign slogan, Stronger Together, to portray Trump as divisive.

Even though DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Clinton ally, resigned on Sunday, angry Sanders supporters throughout the week disrupted the convention and undermined efforts by Clinton and Sanders to present a united front.

On the convention's closing night, Clinton sought to reach beyond the Democratic base, particularly to moderate Republicans unnerved by Trump. She railed against her opponent, questioning his temperament, asking Americans to "imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis". Whether you voted for me, or voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single objective.

Amid laughter, he added, "I said that because I know that Donald Trump couldn't tell the difference".

In Cleveland, however, Trump failed to secure the kind of star-studded event he promised would take place at the convention. He made a compelling case that, compared with what a Trump presidency would look like, continuity is looking better by the day.
