Russian weightlifters banned for doping

The IOC Executive Board reiterates and supports the measures already announced by the Olympic Summit on June 21 to reverse the "presumption of innocence" of athletes from Russia with regard to doping, which means that the eligibility of each Russian athlete will have to be decided by his or her International Federation based on an individual analysis of his or her international anti-doping record.

The Olympic leadership said it will also have to wait for a Court of Arbitration for Sports ruling on Thursday on an appeal by 68 Russian athletes against an IAAF ban.

Meantime, the International Olympic Committee said it has started disciplinary action against Russian sports ministry officials and others implicated in McLaren's report, including denial of accreditation for the Rio Games.

Former European under-23 champion Alexei Selyutin was banned for four years and Russian national champion Yekaterina Vlasova for 18 months, the Russian anti-doping agency says, citing the Russian weightlifting federation.

With regard to the participation of Russian athletes in Brazil, the International Olympic Committee said it would "carefully evaluate" the report by Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren, commissioned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Pokemon GO helps Nintendo become worth more than Sony
Nintendo's stock has increased by close to $20 billion, a near 100% increase from what it was before Pokemon GO launched. Fasol pointed out that the last time Sony had a hit comparable to " Pokemon Go " was when they created the Walkman.

"These boycotts just lead to a breakup of the Olympic movement", he said.

The IOC said it would not grant any Rio accreditation "to any official of the Russian Ministry of Sport or any person implicated". "I think that Russian Federation will never take part in any boycott". The list includes Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko.

The Soviet Union boycotted the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, retaliating for the United States-led boycott of the 1980 Games in Moscow following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

The IOC can also let individual global federations decide to ban Russians in their own sports.

CAS' decision could allow other worldwide federations or the IOC to take the same approach of banning the Russians in a sport or as a country but creating exceptions for athletes who could demonstrate their anti-doping record.

A five-man disciplinary commission was set up to start proceedings against Russian officials mentioned in the report, which described extensive doping and cover-ups at the Sochi Winter Olympics hosted by Russia in 2014.

Russian Federation has five rowing crews entered for the Olympics after a sixth crew was disqualified earlier this month for a doping violation in qualifying.

McLaren, who produced a report for the World Anti-Doping Agency, said there was a "state-dictated failsafe system" of drug cheating.

President Thomas Bach Tuesday said the International Olympic Committee will not hesitate to take the toughest sanctions available against any individual or organization implicated in the doping scandal revealed by a report from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
