Patriots' Dion Lewis needs another knee surgery

Lewis will undergo a second procedure on his left knee and will be out indefinitely, The Boston Globe reported Sunday.

New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis, who tore his left ACL on November 8, will undergo "cleanup" knee surgery that will sideline him indefinitely, league sources confirmed to ESPN. Lewis started six games for the Patriots last season, providing help in both the backfield and as a receiver. Vollmer, meanwhile, had been on the physically unable to perform list with an undisclosed injury. He has played just seven games since 2012, all of which came last season with the Patriots. Starting for the first time in his career in place of a suspended LeGarrette Blount, Lewis recorded 120 yards from scrimmage.
