Grinstead, a former beauty pageant contestant, was last seen October 22, 2005 at her home in home in Ocilla, Georgia. Investigators said she went home to Ocilla and was never seen again. And there was no sign of break-in or signs of struggle.

After a 12-year investigation, the man police say killed Tara Grinstead, a 30-year-old teacher and beauty queen, is expected to make his first appearance in court on murder charges. He had graduated about three years prior to her disappearance. Police said there was no evidence Grinstead was abducted, but they couldn't rule out foul play.
