The officer was fatally stabbed outside Parliament following a murderous rampage across Westminster Bridge, during which the attacker mounted the pavement and ploughed his auto into pedestrians, killing four and injuring at least 50 others.

Meanwhile, Acting Deputy Commissioner and head of counter-terrorism at the Metropolitan Police, Mark Rowley has said he thinks he is aware of who the attacker is, and that he was inspired by Islamist terrorism.

Keith Palmer, a police constable, was stabbed by the attacker, who was shot dead by police.
