Ice cream-eating squirrel - nicknamed Putter - amazes North Carolina beach-goers

No matter the weather, a squirrel at Holden Beach in Brunswick County has to have her ice cream.

There's a North Carolina ice cream shop serving up scoops.but not just to humans!

The owners of the shop say all you need to do is call the name of the squirrel and Putter will come down to get some ice cream. They say Putter started visiting last summer and starting getting friendly with customers, that's when they started giving her ice cream - either vanilla or no sugar added. "We give her a little treat twice a day - that's probably enough", owner Scott Martin told Inside Edition.

"The first thing they ask for: 'Is Putter here?"

Putter, who also goes by the nickname Put Put, eats her ice cream from personal, petite-sized cones the shop keeps in a plastic bag just for her. She'll run around the course and play with the golf balls. She's very tolerant of us.
