Prison: Aaron Hernandez elated about acquittal, not suicidal

Prosecutors on Friday released an excerpt of the letter ex-NFL player Aaron Hernandez wrote to his fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins Hernandez, before he committed suicide last month.

"This inmate stated that Hernandez came to his door before lock in and stated, 'remember when you die your soul gets reincarnated, '" the report said. "I love you! YOU'RE RICH". The verse begins: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

TMZ Sports has obtained and published the suicide note Aaron Hernandez wrote to his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, before he hung himself in his cell.

The letter went on: "This was the Supreme's, the Almighty's plan, not mine!"

He ended the note with: "I KNEW I LOVED YOU = SAVAGE GARDEN".

Days before his death at the age of 27, Hernandez was found not guilty for the double murder of two men on a Boston street in 2012.

So there was a bit of flatness from the players, particularly in the second half". I can't wait for next season to start.

The prisons department report says Hernandez knew a prisoner's convictions could be erased if he dies during his appeal, as Hernandez did.

When he finally entered, the guard saw redness on Hernandez's knuckles and elbow. "Prison ain't (expletive) to me", he said, according to the report. "I'll run this place and keep running s***. Prison ain't shit to me".

Kennedy's lawyer, Larry Army Jr., managing partner of the Boston firm Army & Roche, told the Daily Mail in another report that prison authorities had denied a request by Hernandez to share a cell with his client.

On April 14, Hernandez was was acquitted in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in a drive-by shooting in the city's South End in the early morning hours of July 16, 2012. The Medical Examiner has ruled it a suicide.

The former National Football League player was serving life in prison for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Those lawsuits were pending until the completion of his double-homicide trial.

Yet throughout his high-profile legal troubles, Hernandez himself largely remained silent.

Hernandez pleaded guilty to the offense and was docked 15 units from his canteen as discipline. At 1 a.m., a correction officer saw him during a cell check.

Video surveillance showed the inmate attempted to shake his hand. They had to be broken up with a chemical agent, according to the report.

A separate classification report from the Department of Correction indicated that Hernandez had several issues crop up while detained in Bristol County. "If he was going to be in with someone else why not Aaron Hernandez", said Army. He also lost all visitation privileges from his family and friends for 45 days.

The claim is notable because Hernandez's family is moving to have his 2015 murder conviction overturned due to a long-standing state law that states a conviction can (and usually will) be vacated if the defendant has not seen out an appeal.
