Seventh gives Alonso something to smile about

Two-time champion Fernando Alonso said he will be open to offers from rival teams if McLaren continues to struggle next season.

The Spanish Formula One Grand Prix will take place on Sunday.

Despite his optimism of the front, the new event of Alonso further darkens his future at McLaren-Honda, while he did not finish a single race in the first four Global Positioning System of the season.

"I try to support the team and drive as fast as I can, but the problem is not entirely mine". At the end of the day, I felt a little bit more comfortable.

Alonso will miss the next F1 race in Monaco to contest the Indianapolis 500, and said he is likely to make a decision about his future after summer.

"I don't know what Mercedes was up to".

The two-time world champion isn't competing in the race as a public relations stunt, but rather, he's trying to showcase his talents in a way he now can't in F1. "Definitely, our moment right now is not the best".

"From the data we lost the oil first so the pressure went down and still the engine was running, so the engine was OK, but once the oil pressure was down then the engine was broken", Hasegawa explained.

"The second is to find how competitive we can be here, which is quite different to the last couple of races, plus with the updates people bring here, normally things change". "Happy for that, happy for the team, changing the power units every day basically so hopefully we can finish the job with points".
