London police arrest another attack suspect

The fierce security debate comes as United Kingdom authorities faced new questions over how one of the London Bridge attackers was let into Britain despite being on a security watch list.

Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, said Butt called him a "Murtad" - traitor in Arabic - when he confronted Choudary about his support of terrorism days after the murder of Lee Rigby in 2013.

"Additionally, there are around 20,000 individuals who are former subjects of interest, whose risk remains subject to review by MI5 and its partners".

PRESSURE was mounting on the Government and the security services last night following claims that Italian authorities had warned the United Kingdom about the third London Bridge attacker.

Officers searching the house found an English-language copy of the Koran "opened at a page describing martyrdom", as well as bottles "smelling of petrol" and "a bottle of lighter fluid".

The Metropolitan Police arrested a man in connection to the London Bridge and Borough Market attacks that killed seven people and wounded 48 on Saturday night.

Rachid Redouane was a 30-year-old Moroccan-Libyan pastry chef who had until recently been living in Dublin. The Italians claim both MI6 and MI5 were informed about Zaghba, who told police he was "going to be a terrorist" when he was stopped at Bologna airport. Subsequently, two of the attackers would be identified as Khuram Shazad Butt and Rachid Redouane.

Delayed Subway Passengers Came Together to Give This Graduate an Unforgettable Ceremony
But the emergency brakes on the train went off-leaving them and other passengers stuck for two hours until a rescue train came. Alcantara, a nursing school graduate, said he left his home extra early - 8 a.m. - for the 10 a.m. ceremony.

"However, there was no intelligence to suggest that this attack was being planned and the investigation had been prioritised accordingly".

However when he appeared in a Channel 4 documentary, The Jihadis Next Door, previous year officers did view the programme.

He was filmed praying with a black ISIS flag.

But police said that they had no warning of a plot and that their investigation of Butt had been shelved.

After once being seen as one of the UK's biggest dangermen, he slipped down the priority list.

They also discovered equipment for making petrol bombs, plastic bottles and duct tape for constructing fake suicide bomb belts, and an ID card for Redouane.

After that incident, Italian authorities entered his information in SIS - the Schengen Information System - a network that allows Schengen countries to enter and consult intelligence about people wanted or missing, the papers said.

Timeline: How the Trump-Khan relationship grew so heated
Trump mocked Khan's comment on Sunday, suggesting in a tweet that the mayor was downplaying the attacks. Khan was asked if he thought Trump's state visit to the United Kingdom should be called off.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences and a third man was arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

The uncle of the Pakistani-origin ringleader of the London Bridge terror attack in the United Kingdom that killed seven people has condemned the horrific massacre, saying he was ashamed of his nephew.

"We have stories of people armed with chairs, bottles, anything they could get their hands on with a view to trying to prevent the attackers coming to pubs and bars but also scaring them off to prevent other people being attacked".

The officer, who had been on the job for less than two years, was one of the first on the scene.

They were walking over London Bridge when the three assailants in a van mowed down pedestrians on the bridge and then launched a stabbing spree in and around bars in nearby Borough Market.

Now, the Met Police has released images of what was found inside the white van used by the killers.

Trump Argues for Travel Ban After Attacks Hit London
England has been on edge since May 22, when a suicide bomber killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena. The Royal Oak pub, near the attack site, opened its doors to people evacuated from hotels inside the area cordoned off by police.
