Pokemon Gold and Silver are Headed to 3DS Virtual Console

Nintendo's latest Nintendo Direct announcement brings us Pokken Tournament DX, Pokemon UltraSun and UltraMoon Pokemon Gold and Silver with their launch dates, but not all these games are out for the Switch. Compare that to the simultaneous press release for Pokken Tournament DX, which mentioned the Nintendo Switch multiple times, or the press release for Pokemon Gold and Silver, which also mentioned the Nintendo 3DS.

Much like January's Switch announcement, the Pokemon trailer touted the ability to play outside or while on the go.

When: On Tuesday, June 13, the show starts right after the Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017 presentation about 9:30 a.m. PT.

Sai Praneeth led from the start and it was only a matter of minutes before he closed the game in his favour. From there on, he did not let his Thai opponent make a recovery and won the game comfortably.

The full Pokemon Direct can be viewed below. Both games will feature wireless communication for Link Trades and Link Battles, as well as support for the Pokemon Bank. Plus, Switch owners should keep busy with these games, too. There have been many spin-off titles on home consoles and mobile, but the iconic mainline series has always been on Nintendo handheld systems. These will be enhanced versions of last year's Pokemon Sun and Moon sporting a new storyline, seemingly better graphics, and new pokemon. All that's known for now is that it's only coming to the Nintendo 3DS instead of the expected Nintendo Switch.

First up, Pokken Tournament will make the leap to the Nintendo on September 22 as Pokken Tournament DX.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are expected to be out on November 17.
