British police said Thursday that the Manchester bomber did not act on his own and others were "aware or complicit" in the attack in which 22 people were killed, the Guardian reported Thursday.

The Manchester bombing police are working with authorities in Libya to speak to Hashem, who is being held by anti-terror police.

Officers said the man was held at Liverpool's John Lennon airport they were a searching a property in the south of the city, located near to where the attacker Salman Abedi, 22, lived.

A home is now being searched as part of the investigation and the suspect is being quizzed by police.

It added that the two leaders were looking forward to meeting at this week's G20 meeting in Hamburg, Germany. The Trump administration is rapidly adopting a more confrontational stance toward China across the board.

Police said, as it stands, 23 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation, of which two were quickly de-arrested, and 20 were released without charge.

Detective Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson, head of counter-terrorism in north-west England, said that Abedi had carried the explosive device through the streets of Manchester for "several hours" before blowing up at his intended target. "We do however believe further arrests are possible".

There were a number of arrests immediately after the attack, including of Abedi's brother, but police later declared they beleived the killer had acted largely alone.

In the days after the Manchester attack, Abedi's father and brother were arrested in Libya. We do believe further arrests are possible.

It is said to be liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Libyan authorities.
