Odell Beckham Jr. suffers ankle injury in preseason game

According to an ESPN report, Odell Beckham Jr.'s damaged left ankle may prevent him from playing in the Giants' opener at Dallas on September 10.

If Beckham were to miss the first two weeks of the regular season, the Giants could find themselves in a bit of a predicament.

Beckham left Monday's game against the Cleveland Browns in the second quarter after he was hit low by Browns cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun.

An X-Ray during the game against the Browns was negative. According to another unnamed source in Graziano's column, Beckham's ankle was "very sore" Tuesday, and he's likely to miss the team's final two preseason games. One of the other sources said that the player will "take steps to protect himself" if he is unable to get a new contract with the Giants, but Beckham prefers an extension.

GBP Higher Ahead of Central Bank Event
In Europe, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.7 percent to 7,370 while Germany's DAX rose 0.7 percent, too, to 12,155. Investors wonder when the European Central Bank may follow suit and whether Draghi will provide a steer.

Giants head coach Ben McAdoo didn't appear bothered by the hit.

"I don't know, it's just football I guess, preseason", Beckham told reporters.

The ESPN report was not the result of a false signal from the Giants to try to fool the Cowboys, their Week One opponent.

Yet while Beckham didn't say the hit was dirty, plenty of other current and former National Football League players did.

Fact #4: The Dodgers won 37 consecutive home games from May 3 to August 11 in which they held a lead of any kind . It was as close to a major upset as one baseball team could get in a season that has 162 games over six months.

"You have your players crying out for help".

After last night's injury scare, you have to think Beckham is heavily leaning toward purchasing the insurance. We know they can't run the ball, but they went 11-5 past year without running the ball so that might not matter.

Giants safety Landon Collins was critical of Boddy-Calhoun's hit, saying, "I can not have a teammate next to me playing that way". Their strength is their two starting wide receivers, Odell Beckham, Jr. and Brandon Marshall.
