Police officers attacked outside Buckingham Palace a man has been arrested

British police have arrested a man carrying a knife outside Buckingham Palace, with two officers suffering minor injuries during the incident.

Scotland Yard said two police had suffered injuries and a man had been arrested.

The alleged offender was held just after 8.30pm on Friday evening on suspicion of assault and grievous bodily harm.

Footage on Sky News showed emergency vehicles lining the street outside the palace.

One eyewitness, Nicole Kyle, was walking home when she saw police head towards Buckingham Palace.

Metropolitan Police tweeted that officers are at the scene of the incident. Police would only confirm that the man had a knife.
