Paul Pogba's injury is 'long term', confirms Jose Mourinho

Mourinho listing Pogba along with Ibrahimovic and Rojo, who have been out since suffering knee ligament injuries in April, does appear worrying for United.

Pogba limped out of an opening 3-0 Champions League Group A victory over FC Basel on 12 September after only 19 minutes and has been sidelined ever since, with updates on his condition few and far between.

Jose Mourinho, the manager of Manchester United, confirmed that the injury of Frenchman Paul Boujba was as impressive as the two Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rojo.

Mourinho has repeatedly said he did not know how bad Pogba's injury was as the club continued to assess the midfielder in-house, as well as seeking specialist advice.

The United boss, speaking at today's press conference said: "Pogba cannot play tomorrow and it's not an injury that I can have the hope with Valencia or Jones".

Valencia, Jones, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick also missed the 4-1 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, while Anthony Martial was forced off in the second half. "They were out [on Wednesday] and tomorrow some [players] will be out [too]".

Meanwhile, Mourinho, whose side face bottom of the table Crystal Palace tomorrow, has revealed he is more concerned about United's gruelling schedule than the standard of opposition they face.

Opponents Crystal Palace are now rock bottom at the foot of the Premier League table, having picked up no points from their first six matches played.
