After attending the Patna University function, the prime minister will fly to Mokama, which is in Patna district about 100 km from the capital city, where he will lay the foundation stones for four sewerage projects under the Namami Gange Programme and four national highway projects.

Referring to demands for making Patna University a central university, Modi said it should strive to be among the globally-ranked varsity based on the competition and "this was many times ahead of being a central university".

Modi, who visited the Patna University for the first time said, "In every state, the top levels of the civil services have people who have studied in Patna University".
