Four toddlers and six adults have died after a security guard reportedly attacked a nursery school and began setting people alight.

Reports revealed the security guard, identified as Damiao Soares dos Santos, 50, was mentally ill and had worked in the centre since 2008. The children ranged in age from 1 to 4 years old.

According to BBC, Santos poured a flammable liquid over several people inside the day care before starting a fire.
