Tencent to Localize PUBG for China

After months of behind-the-scenes negotiations, Tencent, which just overtook Facebook in terms of market value, announced on Wednesday that it will handle PUBG's publishing rights in China.

"PUBG has sold more than 20 million copies since we released the game in March 2017, and we expect our strategic partnership with Tencent to open up new horizons in the Chinese market", CEO of PUBG Corporation CH Kim said.

China has made a decision to allow a violent multiplayer shoot-em-up game that's become the world's top-selling title into the country, but only after messages were added to reflect the country's socialist ideology.

In a statement the party said it "rejects the description of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement as terrorist". Hariri cited Iran and Hezballah for meddling in regional affairs and expressed fear of a plot to assassinate him.

Outside of the lack of updates in preparation for the game's full launch, the biggest problem facing PUBG users around the world is the increase in cheaters.

With China getting their own servers and rules that will keep the game in service, everyone involved in PUBG, including the corporation, Tencent, Chinese national and all other worldwide players, benefit from this change. In response, Tencent, the Chinese tech empire now worth more than half a trillion dollars, has capitulated, claiming they will "make adjustment to content ... and make sure they accord with socialist core values, Chinese traditional culture and moral rules".

Tencent will operate the game in the region.

Tencent has also promised that it is reworking the game specifically for the Chinese audience. Now, the publisher has finally received permission to do so, but only after making some considerable changes to the game as to meet China's "socialist core values".

The PUBG game where players fight for survival on a deserted island is now the world's top-selling videogame, having shipped more than 20 million copies since its launch in March. "We will also offer a different, fun experience on PC".
