US Upholds Import Tariff on Bombardier

In a win for Boeing (BA +0.2%), the U.S. Commerce Department finalizes duties of almost 300% on passenger jets made by Bombardier (OTCQX:BDRAF, OTCQX:BDRBF).

An worldwide row between the US and Canada has kicked off again as the US Department of Commerce upheld massive tariffs on the import of Bombardier's C Series jet.

"This decision is based on a full and unbiased review of the facts in an open and transparent process", Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said in a statement.

"Boeing is using its meritless complaint as cover to close the U.S. market, which is one of the biggest in the world, to new entrants such as Bombardier's C Series aircraft", he said. But the panel also appeared dubious about Bombardier's claims that the CSeries and the smallest versions of the 737 do not compete against each other at all.

Three takeaways from Falcons' win over Bucs
While the Detroit game was certainly upsetting from a turnover perspective, it also left the team devastated by key injuries. The 8-5 Falcons find themselves back in playoff contention after winning four of their last five contests.

"It is beyond all reason that Boeing could be threatened with injury in a market segment it exited over a decade ago", she said.

The Administration's approach aligns with Boeing's long-term effort to push back against improper government subsidies to competitors, even as the company has been found by the World Trade Organisation to benefit from more than $1 billion of unfair benefits from the state of Washington.

The case stems from an April 2016 sale of 75 CSeries jets to Delta Air Lines Inc.

Bombardier calls Boeing's criticism an "unfounded assault on airlines, the flying public, and the USA aerospace industry", saying the entire complaint has been overtaken by events.

Conor McGregor says his next fight will be in UFC
Mayweather beat UFC's biggest star in August when he scored a technical knockout over Conor McGregor in a boxing ring. The superfight was the second richest boxing bout in history, long-awaited final figures revealed on Saturday.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian told Business Insider in a recent interview that the C Series plane is already made with at least 50 percent USA parts and moving its assembly to Alabama would boost that percentage up to about 60 percent. Investigations "established beyond question that Bombardier has taken billions of dollars in illegal government subsidies to prop up its C Series program", Boeing said after the hearing.

"A single large order, like Bombardier's sale to Delta, takes years of demand out of the market".

Susan Fitzgerald, the Unite regional officer for Bombardier in NI said: "This decision poses a devastating risk for the Northern Ireland economy".

It includes a 79.82% tariff to offset a Commerce Department ruling that Bombardier engaged in price dumping, meaning it sold the CS100s to Delta below its fair market value by that amount.

New details on Rich Swann's arrest
The WWE's Domestic Violence policy from their corporate website says that upon arrest, superstars will be suspended. Su Yung is said to have jumped out of a moving vehicle because she was fearful of what Swann might do to her next.

Bombardier plans to build the planes in Mobile, Alabama, where Airbus assembles narrow-body jets.
