A hot air balloon carrying around 20 people including tourists crashed near Egypt's ancient city of Luxor on Friday, security and medical officials said.

An American was reportedly killed in the crash, which came as a group of Egyptian citizens and the foreign tourists took a tour over the famous Valley of the Kings.
