Barkley Set For Medicals After Chelsea Agree £15m Deal With Everton

Rumors of a renewed Chelsea bid for Ross Barkley, who's contract is expiring in six months, have persisted ever since the Everton midfielder rejected a chance to complete a move to Stamford Bridge in the waning hours of the summer transfer window.

He also turned down a move to Chelsea on the final day of the summer transfer window, but talks between the two clubs resumed at the start of this month.

Barkley fell out of favour under former Everton boss Ronald Koeman following his refusal to sign a new contract last season.

1 dead, 19 tourists injured in Egypt hot air balloon crash
In 2013, 19 tourists were killed when a hot air balloon caught fire in Luxor. The health ministry identified the dead person as a 36-year-old woman.

Sources close to the situation have told me that while Barkley is disappointed that Spurs did not make a suitable offer, he feels it shows that Chelsea wanted him more, which is why he is happy to commit to the champions instead.

New manager Sam Allardyce said a year ago that if he returned to full fitness and remained committed, he could still have a future at the club.

The same report claimed that Tottenham Hotspur ended their interest in Barkley due to the player's wage demands, putting Chelsea in the front seat for his signature.

Carson Palmer says goodbye as Cardinals face two big voids
Palmer's final career numbers included 46,247 passing yards, which ranks 12th all-time; he threw for 294 touchdown passes, which ranks 12th all-time.

With Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen and Nikola Vlasic already at the club, his departure may not leave the Everton manager scrambling to sign a replacement.

It will mean the player is leaving Goodison Park after 13 years, having joined Everton as an 11-year-old in 2005.
