Walmart Offers Unique Opioid Disposal Solution With DisposeRx

Retail giant Walmart Wednesday announced the launch of an opioid disposal solution, known as DisposeRx, which will help in its fight against opioid abuse and misuse.

The DisposeRx packet contains a safe crosslinking polymer blend that, when emptied into a pill bottle with warm water, will let patients easily and responsibly dispose of any form of leftover medications in the trash by sequestering them into a nondivertible, biodegradable gel, according to the Southern Pines, N.C. -based manufacturer.

Walmart customers can request a free packet anytime, and people with long-term prescriptions will get one every six months.

Without Sanchez, Arsenal loses 2-1 to Bournemouth in EPL
Five minutes later, the Cherries took the lead courtesy of a powerful low strike from Jordon Ibe , 2-1. Arsenal were on Sunday beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth in the Premier league.

What Walmart wants to do by including packets along with the prescription is to make it possible for you to dispose of those five pills at home for free.

Repeated tests have been unable to extract opioids from the resultant solid after the powder is mixed with the drugs, DisposeRX's CEO John Holaday said. Ongoing counseling will also be made available to Walmart patients on proper opioid use and how to use DisposeRx.

The move comes as the USA grapples with the scourge of opioid addiction, an affliction that often begins when chronic-pain sufferers fill a prescription at a retail pharmacy chain like Wal-Mart, CVS Health ( CVS ) or Walgreens Boots Alliance ( WBA ). The company said that as of last fall, it had donated around 1.5 million drug disposal packets across the country.
