The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPB), the apex body of Indian Muslims, on Friday ruled out any compromise on Babri Masjid, rejecting a proposal by one of its members Maulana Salman Nadvi reportedly supporting construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. With these directions, it is expected that the case will be ripe for hearing when it is taken up next at 2 pm on March 14. The bench said that it would hear the appeals on March 14, 2018, and clarified that it never meant to hear the case on a "day-to-day basis".

When the matter came up before the Supreme Court today, it asked parties before the Allahabad High Court in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute to file in two weeks English translation of documents exhibited by them. "Whatever be the case, it is after all a land dispute".

The bench also refused to entertain applications for interventions, observing that the five suits were capable of handling the case.
