Diplo & Will Smith Team Up For Official World Cup 2018 Anthem

The 2018 World Cup will kick off on 14 June and will run for four weeks across various cities in Russian Federation. On the latter note, Billboard confirmed an initial report from Vibe that Will Smith and Nicky Jam, along with Kosovar singer Era Istrefi, will perform the official song for the 2018 World Cup.

The anthem of this year's world cup, to be held in Russian Federation, is produced by the American producer Diplo and will be released on May 25.

"Nicky Jam and Will Smith are producing the new copa de futbol, they're doing it together", DJ Nelson told Vibe VIVA on May 16. Past anthems include Shakira's "Waka Waka" and Ricky Martin's "The Cup of Life".

Voter guide to Kentucky primary election
The third-fastest growing county in the country has 15 precinct-specific polling places for both Republican and Democratic voters. Austin's neighbor to the north, the 14th-fastest growing county in the country, will have 32 Election Day polling places.

It will be Smith's first foray into the music scene since 2015 when he featured in Colombian band Bomba Estéreo's "Fiesta".

The star had also hinted at the World Cup collaboration earlier in the week, tweeting a picture with the caption "The best of everything is the process". However, he's certainly proven his ability to make catchy anthems, especially when they're tied to big projects - think "Men In Black" and "Wild West West".

The tournament will begin in Russian Federation next month, although fans will likely have to wait to hear Will perform, as the official song is traditionally at the centre of the closing ceremony - which takes place ahead of the final.

Iran rejects US' threatening remarks against its nuclear programme
Russian Federation and China have also criticized the U.S. move and vowed to maintain trade with Iran. Critics said this is likely to lead to a more hard-line administration.

American-born Nicky Jam is a star of the reggaeton genre, and is hugely popular in Latin America.

Every World Cup needs a banging World Cup anthem to go with it and long behold, it appears as though the legend that is Will Smith is providing it this year.
