In Jordan, Israel and Iran secretly negotiate future of Syria

Israel and Russian Federation have been supporting opposing sides in the Syrian war but according to sources in Israel the two countries have reached a "dramatic understanding" whereby Moscow will concede to virtually every single demand made by Tel Aviv.

The United States, Russia, and Jordan agreed past year to include Daraa in a "de-escalation zone" and freeze lines of conflict there.

The deal is said to have been finalised in a phone call days earlier between Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman and his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu. "We believe that there is no room for any Iranian military presence anywhere in Syria", he said.

At that meeting, they declared they would work toward a nuclear-free Korean peninsula and a formal end to the 1950-53 Korean War. The South Korean president called on both sides to hold working-level talks that may help resolve these differences.

The Israeli prime minister is scheduled to meet with European leaders next week and said that he intends to discuss Iran's nuclear power and find ways to block its "nuclear aspirations" and "Iran's spreading in the Middle East".

After the leaflets were dropped on Friday, the US State Department warned the Syrian government that it would take "firm and appropriate" measures if Syria violates the ceasefire.

Israel suspects Syria's ally Iran of seeking to establish a military presence close to territory it controls and has repeatedly struck Syrian and Iranian targets in Syria when it felt threatened.
