Lars Von Trier's new serial killer film causes walkout at Cannes

Matt Dillon, 54, stars in the 62-year-old-director's new flick, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday. The House That Jack Built stars Matt Dillon as the titular Jack, a highly intelligent serial killer.

Oh no, says Jack, over documentary clips of actual massacres, including footage from a concentration camp of piles of Holocaust victims' bodies being bulldozed into pits. We experience the story from Jack's point of view. "Art is vaster than we could ever understand". Described as "disgusting" and "one of the most unpleasant movie-going experiences of my life", the 2,400-seat Grand Théâtre Lumière saw a "notable segment" of the audience depart early, with Variety's Ramin Setoodeh reporting that 100 guests exited in protest.

Some of those who walked out tweeted their disgust at The House That Jack Built.

Six killed in Indonesia church bombings
Sunday's attacks were the deadliest the country has seen since 2005, when suicide bombings in Bali killed 20 people. Mulyo tried to help the security officer but stopped after he saw a backpack on one of the children.

One thing's for sure, Dillon is magnificent in a very fearless role to take on - he may even be at a career best as Jack, but a stand-out performance is such a film that will be so lambasted over the coming moths leading to release, it'll be interesting if any recognition comes its way.

Von Trier was making his first appearance on the Croisette since being declared "persona not grata" by the festival over a 2011 press conference in which he joked about sympathising with the Nazis.

The Oscar Predictor said: "Just left Lars von Trier's The House That Jack Built".

But internal scandals and an over-leveraged business brought an end to rising share prices, sending the company's stock tumbling. In a transaction dated March 08, 2018, the shares were bought at an average price of $15.34, giving away a sum of $153,400.

The director walked the red carpet along with some of the movie actors for the first time since his appearance at the worldwide film festival in 2011. He views each murder as an artwork in itself, even though his dysfunction gives him problems in the outside world. Let us know what you think. He counted more than 100 people walking out of the film. Now, von Trier has been given permission to return to Cannes, and he's doing so with The House That Jack Built.

The walkout came despite audience members being forewarned that the movie featured "sadistic violence and brutality" and Cannes Film Festival chief Thierry Fremaux saying that it was so controversial it would only screen outside competition.

Local roads in the area have been cordoned off and heavily-armed police officers are positioned around the building. Abdurrahman and Purnama, better known as Ahok, are not housed in the part of the prison where the riot broke out.
