The 22-year-old, who won the Premier League title with City, was not included in manager Joachim Low's final squad when it was reduced to 23 players.

World Cup holders Germany have turned some heads with their 23-man squad for the 2018 tournament.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno, defender Jonathan Tah, both of Bayer Leverkusen, and Freiburg late bloomer Nils Petersen have also been left out of the 23-man group.
