Kawhi Leonard Trade Rumors: Cavaliers, Lakers, Celtics, 76ers Contacted Spurs

Leonard is viewed as the potential honey pot to lure the bee that is James, as The King is unlikely to go anywhere without a big-time player having committed to join the Lakers.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne reported Wednesday, citing league sources, that pressure is mounting for the Los Angeles Lakers to pull off a trade for San Antonio Spurs superstar Kawhi Leonard.

ESPN reports that the Lakers are weighing how much to give up for Leonard, who, it has been reported, wants to be traded to the Lakers and eventually plans to sign with them when he becomes a free agent in 2019.

Supreme Court rules for states in online sales tax case
In doing so, the court overturns two previous rulings that predated the world of e-commerce: the 1992 case, Quill Corp. v. The National Retail Federation trade group has hailed the Supreme Court's sales tax decision as a "major victory".

The Lakers and Celtics aren't the only two teams to call the Spurs about Leonard.

The Lakers are reportedly trying to acquire a future first-round pick that could be combined with some of their young assets to entice the Spurs in further negotiations. He's also strongly hinted that he wants to sign with the Lakers when he hits free agency next season, so he could be an expensive one-year rental for whomever wins the Kawhi sweepstakes. The Lakers could have to surrender a combination of former first-round picks - from Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart - and future first-round picks and perhaps restricted free agent Julius Randle in a sign-and-trade agreement. The point guard was the No.2 overall pick in last year's draft.

Los Angeles will get a better idea on if they have a chance of signing James this summer later this week when the deadline of June 29 approaches for him to opt in or out of his current Cavs deal.

Another layer is the Spurs' pace at which they may look to trade the 26-year-old.

The Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly made offers for Leonard. Even if San Antonio doesn't like those particular players, the overall value could be about right.
