Elon Musks Calls British Cave Diver A 'Pedo' On Twitter

Mr Musk travelled to the Tham Luang caverns in Chiang Rai this week and presented the six-foot submarine - which he said could help free 12 schoolboys stranded for weeks inside the cave.

Unsworth had stated that he felt Musk's submersible had no chance of ever working for that specific rescue because it was too big and rigid for the caverns, and as can be seen at a column on the Inquisitr.

"He had no conception of what the cave passage was like", Unsworth told CNN.

The caver, Vernon Unsworth, said the submarine was a "PR stunt" that wouldn't have made it 50 meters into the cave past the dive start point.

Kei Nishikori bowed out of Wimbledon on Wednesday after losing to Novak Djokovic 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. Early on he was bothered by the glare off the sun, adjusting his serve and then sporting a cap.

That was enough for Musk to throw a Twitter tantrum, in which he not only questioned Unsworth's knowledge, he said he never even saw Unsworth in the cave, implying he wasn't really all that important to the rescue. Musk, for no reason whatsoever, called Unsworth a "pedo".

The complex mission for global and Thai divers to guide the boys and coach through the cave's flooded passageways riveted people worldwide. He then denied Unsworth's claim that Thai officials asked him to leave the cave site when he went there July 9, saying, "Thai navy seals escorted us in - total opposite of wanting us to leave".

Musk responded on Twitter, implying it was "sus" [suspect] for a British ex-pat to be living in Thailand, before offering to make a video of the mini-sub working inside the cave.

Vern Unsworth, who played a significant role in the rescue efforts, wasn't particularly impressed with Musk's offer to help out and said, "He can stick his submarine where it hurts".

Then, three days after the rescue operation was completed, CNN posted an interview with a British spelunker who had helped locate the boys.

Musk was widely mocked on social media after the boys were rescued without the use of his submarine.

The "Wild Boar" team were rescued last week by an global team of divers through a narrow network of twisting, flooded tunnels. The "Wild Boars" football team and the coach had been stuck in the cave since June 23.

In a tweet Saturday, Musk called his political leanings moderate and touted his support for environmental and humanitarian causes.
